Surviving, but am I living?

I have been settling into my new existance. I really noticed that I was living in a new situation the other week while shopping. Realizing that everything I was buying was "single guy" food. Single-serving meals and the like... no family cooking.
Life on my own is pretty lonely actually. I was gonna try to start up at Aikido this month, but because Social Security took out nearly $200 from my check to pay for back Medicare payments I couldn't do it this month.
I've been retreating more into Second Life. Working and getting my social outlet there. I don't think I will ever find true love there, but I guess I am having fun there none the less, romancing those I can, and trying not to expect too much from it.
I actually had a date in RL on Dec 31. Haven't had a second one yet though. Saw a movie. But she had to run right afterwards, so we didn't even really talk. So she is still praticaly a stranger. Don't know if/when a second date will happen.
I used to have hope. I don't know where it went, and I don't know why I don't feel sadder that I seemed to have lost it.
As a joke, I decided my new years resolution was to be celibate -- in the hopes like most I won't be able to keep it.
I realized the other day that since I moved in, not once has any female passed my threshold. My place is very awash in Masculine energy. I kind of like it.
In other news, I was able to pay off my $200 cell phone bill this month with money from Plasma Donations.
In other news, I discovered that I really like the band the Dresden Dolls. I heard a story about them on NPR this week, in a series about how people in different professions make ends meat. Turns out that they don't make much money. When on tour they pay thier crew more than themselves, taking only a $1500 / month salary. They actually lost money when they opened for Nine Inch Nails. And they only get like $1 per cd sold, after the label's cost of making the cd is recovered. So what do I do? I pirate their music. I SO SUCK. I'll buy thier cd's for real next month when I am not $200 short.
