The Treat

I treated myself today. I went to Old Chicago and had my favorite pizza. I can only get it there, for Old Chicago is the only pizza place in town that has artichoke hearts. I know, I called every pizza place in town looking for them before it was built. The pizza was Artichoke Hearts and Bacon. But since the personal pizza comes with three toppings I added roasted garlic to the mix.

Its been at least a year if not longer since I have had artichoke heart and bacon pizza.

But the real treat was the brief encounters with my server when she would smile at me. I know its her job to be nice and pleasant, trying to earn a good tip and make my dining experience a happy one, but yet I still appreciated the smile from an attractive young woman.

Hmm, that actually sounds like a pizza I'd like to try. I can't stand anchovies, but artichoke hearts sounds different. I get tired of the same old toppings all the time.

Here in Seattle you can get anything on a pizza at any time of the day or night. I like roasted garlic cloves, but my favorite pizza is from Jet City Pizza and is basically a gyro pizza only without onions and olives.

In Seattle, have you ever gone to Pagliacci?? The best pizza I ever had was from there (they have several locations and I was at the one on 145th), topped with prosciutto, roasted red and yellow peppers, feta and bleu cheeses, plus the normal mozzarella . . . and I think something else but don't remember what. It was $27 for a large, and that was 10-11 years ago, but the first bite was worth every single penny!

i'm with you on the smile thing. i used to really enjoy going to my local indie coffee shop (no longer my local since i've moved... wah!) on thursday evenings 'cos the barrista would flirt with anyone that moved.

possibly with inanimate objects as well.

also, he gave me free double shots of espresso. BZZZZZZZZZZZ! WHEEEEEEE!!
