An excersise in futility

The cold has killed our car.
The car wouldn't start.
We thought the cold killed our battery.
So I called an accquaintance, and he came over and tried to jump start the car.
It didn't work.
I bought and installed a new battery today.
The car still did not start.
So the leading theory now is that the gas is frozen.
So I went to the gas station to buy a gas can, and some gas to put in the tank and break it up.
They didn't sell gas cans.
But they had one I could use and bring back with a gallon of gas in it.
They didn't even charge me for the gas.
But it didn't work.
The car still does not start.
Its dark, and freezing now.
Tomorrow I will try to find a ride and buy a five-gallon can at Wal Mart and fill that up with gas and try again.
This has been an entirely frustrating experience.
A couple days ago, I walked to target to buy some "heat" for the car hoping that would get it to start. IN freezing tempratures.
They didn't have it at target. But I ran into my friend Adam at target. He and his girlfriend drove me to Wal Mart to look for it there. They were all out. So then we went to Autozone, and didn't find the Heat brand, but the valvoline version of the same stuff. Then I just asked "want to go to the library?" and his girlfriend DID. So we went. A book I had requested was in, and it would have been my only chance to pick it up until tuesday.
That was the only time I have been out (except for today buying batteries and gas) since Valentines day. We have been stuck at home because of the snow and the cold.
