zenmondo: (Jolly Roger)
It turns out Disney's Song of the South has never been released on home video in the USA. So if I am to see this film, I have no choice BUT to resort to piracy. Yo ho ho.

So I installed a P2P app today, and have gone searching. I need [livejournal.com profile] buffalogal to log off Galaxies so I can knock a hole in the router for the ports it uses. (Any changes need the router to be rebooted). I was able to pirate a song successfully without knocking the holes, but I think things will go better if I do.

I guess I can understand the reasons why Disney hasn't released this movie to the home market, but I don't have to like it. Parts of the Song of the South they display proudly. Everyone knows "Zip-a-dee-do-dah", and you see clips of the animated bits in other Disney shows here and there. Heck they even have a whole ride at the Disney parks themed to Song of the South. If they would release it, I WOULD buy it (or at least rent it), but they won't so I am gonna try to pirate it.

I suppose its a bit of a longshot, but anyone on my friends list have a copy?

It looks like there are some dubious DVDs and Canadian VHSs on ebay, I might go that route if I can't download it in a month's time or get it through other means.

I can't decide which userpic to use for this entry:
