So first the good news:
theos20 and I went to the new Comix Shop today. It rocked. The proprietor, a 30 year old nerd, with longish hair and a van dyke goes by the name of Stacey and is extremely cool. He bough his back issue stock on Ebay, and the comix that he has gone through and boxed (by publisher, and not sorted by title) are only $1.25 an issue. Some of them are not worth that (The Thing team-up with MASTER OF KUNG FU), but others like the $7 Tales of Suspense are back there, and sold for A buck and two bits.
I showed him my chance cube, and he thought it was cool, and said he would buy 4 of them at $3 per. So... I just happened to have 4 left in my stock, and I just happened to have my stock in a padded envelope in my cargo pocket.
I took that $12 dollars, and spent Two Bucks and Four Bits on some comix. My friend had already bought me one.
So I came home from the comix shop with nine dollars and change, and three comix. It was an awesome trip.
This surprised
theos20 to no end, and he and
buffalogal are surprised how well they are selling on Ebay.
theos20 said that only those of my LJ-Friends would be buying my chance cubes, and the fact that I am selling to complete strangers seem to amaze them. I mean I just met this guy and I sold him FOUR.
They were both nice while I was making them, and I was obviously enjoying the crafting, but they love me and kept to themselves their thoughts that they would not sell. I probably would have gotten depressed about it if they did so I am glad for that. Yet, I know my people.
Funny thing is, only one person from my friend's list has bought a chance cube from me, and that person became my friend AFTER that. So uh...
Thenk yew.
THERE IS A COMIX SHOP IN CASPER!!!!
