Can I see some ID?

I got carded twice yesterday.
The second time was a bit flattering,
theos20 and I went to Old Chicaogo for the Thai Pie, and some brews. I had a Heiniken Dark Lager, was very bitter, and very good.
The first time was earlier in the day. Adam and I were running around town getting flyers placed for the Go club, and
buffalogal said that she was craving Beer Nuts, and asked if I could pick some up for her on the way home.
So we go to the Safeway, and no beer nuts that we could find. So we go next door to the liquor store. They had some. We looked around to see if any booze looked appealing, didn't find anything we wanted, so I went to buy the beer nuts.
She carded me. For BEER NUTS. Not only that, but made Adam show his ID as well -- who wasn't buying anything -- but was she afraid I was purchasing salty legumes for my underaged friend?
Turns out that its Wyoming Law that just to shop at a liquor store, you must be of age, even if you don't buy any alcahol, -- or anything. Kind of weird though, if you ask me. I mean if this is the case, that underages aren't allowed in the door, why don't they card at the door?
Its silly. A Kid could not go in, and buy a package of Jolt Gum on the counter legally.
What gets me more, is that I have been in that store on other occasions, and have bought beer twice (once of me, once for my mother in law), but when I bougt penuts and almonds -- that was the first time I got carded.
Life is strange and good.

Oddly enough, nobody ever got in trouble for failing to card minors in that jurisdiction. But a lot of adults did get carded unexpectedly. Go figure.
