The irony and comedy of THIS topic coming up after my last post does not escape me. All I can say is that the gods must be crazy. At least I hope that I am not going to the "gods making me mad" part that comes before "gods destroying me" part.
Some of you may remember my outrage when Education Secretary Margaret Spellings pretty much demanded that an episode of "Postcards from Buster" not be aired because she found the very idea that a Lesbian couple on a children's television show to be inapropiate.
The family depicted on this show are being honored with the "Families of Courage" Award by the Pride Coalition.
You can read the story I did on 365Gay.com.
You know, I really really fear political rhetoric these days, but the thing that scares me the most lately is the use of "outside the mainstream" to mean any thing not in line with the conservative worldview, and the implication that such thinking is "unamerican". This country, and our representation in the government is very close to the middle, those leading the majority may yet find themselves outside the mainstream if they are not cautious.

I just hope the swing comes soon enough...
