I think we all tend to hit a certain age and get in a 'fashion rut'. What I have observed is that people get stuck in the decade in which they were happiest. My Mom was forever late 60's/early 70's. I held on to the 80's as long as I could (in the main, as the 70's had come back, and I was not thrilled with them the first time around).

I think the real question, Zenny, is this; Are *you* unhappy with your appearance? If no, then don't sweat it. If yes, then by all means, do something.

SL has been a wonderfully enlivening experience for me as it pertains to my own personal appearance. I got refocused on clothing and accessories simply by playing "dress up" with Fenix. She's as close to accurate for me as I can get with the sliders, so when I see something on her and like it, I know I can go look for it in RL. And have. But, I was up for a change by that point. I had been in a rut for a decade or two, and did find that I wanted out.

I say never change for changes sake. Only do it if you really want to, only do it if what you change to is an improvement over what was, and only do it if you have the time in to discover what it is that best reflects you now.

YMMV...
