Let me top that off for you...
Sep. 13th, 2007 01:55 pmSo yesterday I was feeling kind of nostalgic for a summer when I ate about a zillion triple cheeseburgers at McDonald's during the Disney Hercules tie in. Well they don't make triples anymore but the double is on the dollar menu, so off I went for that.
As I was at the window at the drive through, I saw the person topping off my coke ... but not with coke, but with ICE. She was scooping ice into my cup to bring the level to the top of the cup. I could do nothing but shake my head. I guess I should feel cheated. But I wonder how may micro-pennies McDonald's saves by this practice that add up to real savings.
Though I would like to see the cost analysis of how much ice costs to make vs soda pop. Soda Pop you got syrup, CO2, and water. With ice you have water and the energy for refrigeration. Yeah Ice is probably cheaper. But still how hard could it have been to top me off with a couple squirts of coke?
