I used to keep a top twelve list of my favorite movies, and although I have not updated the list in a while, I think I need more than 12 spots.

So, yesterday I was at target and I saw Pirates of the Caribbean on sale for only 15 bux. I figured that buying the movie for that price is about the same gamble I would have taken if I took my wife to go see it in the theatre. I have a lot of friends who like the movie, so I decided to gamble 3 five dollar bills and see if I like it or not.

I loved it.

The [livejournal.com profile] keltgrrl loved it too. She wants to watch it again tonight while doing christmas crafts (tonights project: snowmen made out of socks). I think we should get a bottle of Captain Morgan's and watch it right, but she is fearful of how the snow-people will turn out if she makes them while drunk. Ah well.

I would not have been so keen on getting the movie if I had not discovered the phenomona of fansites for Disney rides, past & present over the weekend. The poor guy that runs AtomMobiles.com, a tribute site to the late great Adventure Through Innerspace ride at Disneyland got slash-dotted over the weekend. I was one of 11,000 visitors and contributed to costing him $1000 in bandwidth costs. (I will be donating $15 after I finish this post)

Another gem I have found is one for the Haunted Mansion, DoomBuggies.com and thier subsite, Tell No Tales a tribute to you guessed it, Pirates of the Caribbean.

Another fun site is Yesterland which has stuff about every ride at Disneyland that used to be. (You mean they got rid of the People Mover?!?! THOSE BASTARDS!!!

So I've been a bit Disney-fied since the weekened, and Piratefied since last night. I went to the Disney store, bought some christmas presents for Conor, and a Pirates OTC t-shirt for me.
