Funny thing seen on the highway: An SUV with "Just Divorced" written across its back window. I was in the middle of saying something to
keltgrrl at the time, but had to stop to belly laugh. It was a very good laugh. It felt great.
Last week, I had to take dad to the VA clinic. I'm gonna start going in with him so I can hear what the doc says first hand. Anywho, he got some antibiotics, and they wouldn't give them to him without consulting a pharmacist. So he gets led to this room and told, "just sit there, and don't touch anything". There was a small screen on a little tiny table in front of him. Before long, the thing comes to life, and there on the screen was the pharmacist, several cities away. He had a consultation by video phone. It was really neat. The picture was just as good as anything you see on tv, and the sound was clear. This was not the usual experience I have with web-cams and pc microphones, that's for sure.

Today's Afterschool Aikido Class went amazingly well, I would say one of my kids has had a breakthrough. Since H. began training with me she has had a very difficult time focusing. So much so, the it really makes a big negative impact on the class. Much of my energy is taken up with having to reign her in. The past few classes have had a major emphasis on focus for everyone, and H. was showing improvement.
Today, it almost was if H. was a different girl. She was able to maintain focus for most of the class, and I could tell she was working very VERY hard at it. She paid attention, and even did the technique correct without further instruction from me. "I payed attention, so I know how to do this!" she enthusiasticly told me.
As a teacher, this is one of those days I will remember and keep with me forever.
