Endings bring beginings

keltgrrl recently talked about Conor's IEP meeting and how that all went, but here is my take on it.
I was pretty much overloaded with all the information at the meeting. The short of it is that he has some skills of a four year old, but his speech tests at the level of one year, eleven months. He has some autistic tendancies/behaviors. There isn't a clinical diagnosis of autism, but these things needed to be addressed. They are taking him out of Head Start where he is now, and placing him in a pre-school geared for kids like him.
We toured his new classroom today. Its very structured, and Conor would be the 5th student there, with 3 teachers available. Its exactly what he needs.
----
In other news, I start my new job teaching Aikido at the K-8 school today. Kind of nervous, but confident that I will do OK. No, I'll do GREAT. :^) Prayers & Postive thinking still welcome.
