I wonder what the tolerance on a lego brick is. I mean, I have never encoutered two legos that would not go together. Everytime. They must make millions of these things, and they always fit. Lego is an unsung engineering achievment if you ask me.

[livejournal.com profile] buffalogal was watching one of those educational cable networks this afternoon, and we were astonished when they were blurring out body parts ON STATUES. From what I saw of the statues, they were very old, and well-weathered, the features being very difficult to make out. Yet they were afraid that the American audience would be offended at a stone dong.

There is something very wrong with this culture when non-sexual simulated nudity needs to be hidden. But what do you expect from a culture that was founded by Puritans? Its incredible they didn't die out all together. Its some kind of psychosis that associates all nudity with sexuality, and another kind of psychosis that associates sexuality as something obscene.

You should try Utah. I had a Sociology professor who honestly believed that they should put boxer-shorts on Michelangelo's David (and his "stone dong" -- can I just say that the term "stone dong" is brilliant, it sort of puts it all in perspective).
